APPLICATION PROCESS

COURSE RECOGNITION

The Society for Coaching Psychology course and workshop recognition system confers recognition for education and training in the field of coaching psychology.  The system also offers guidance and a level of quality assurance for SCP members planning their coaching psychology related annual continuing professional development (CPD) or education activities.   (see criteria below)

Successful applicants will be able to state that their course or workshop is recognized by the Society for Coaching Psychology as providing CPD or CPE for its members.   The title, date and contact information of the course or workshop can also be listed on the event section of the Society's website.

Course and workshop providers can access an application form here Download Application Form

Criteria for Assessment for Society for Coaching Psychology (SCP) Course and Workshop Recognition

The following sets out criteria that form part of the assessment process for SCP Course and Workshop Recognition Status.  Applicants may find it useful to review this information prior to submitting an application.

Following confirmation that an application has been successful an organisation will be entitled to state that the course or workshop is ‘Recognised by the Society for Coaching Psychology as providing CPD/CPE for its Members’.

CRITERIA:

·         The Course Director (and preferably, course faculty members) is a full member of the Society for Coaching Psychology with the member grade MSCP.

·         Details of trainers or tutors experience/qualifications are provided, reflecting they appear appropriate to deliver the course/workshop.

·         Details provided of course/workshop accreditation and/or recognition from other professional bodies.

·         The aims, objectives, and teaching methodologies of the course/workshop should be detailed, and make appropriate and sufficient reference to coaching psychology and related theory, practical skills and/or research.

·         The course/workshop details should specify face-to-face contact time, either in ‘classroom’ context or in supervised practice.

·         The course/workshop content and summary of activities (e.g. pre-reading, course work) should be detailed to provide an accurate reflection of the number of CPD/E hours claimed in the application.

·         An opportunity is provided for the participants/delegates to provide the course director with feedback.  Where appropriate, the SCP reserve the right to request a random selection of delegate feedback forms for monitoring purposes.

·         Further information on both the providing organisation and the course/workshop should be made available, in hard copy or electronically, for the purposes of this assessment process.

·         If successful, recognition is granted for single presentations and annually for repeated courses/workshops. Courses/workshops will need to be re-submitted for recognition after a 12 month period.  If a single presentation is repeated within a 12 month period an additional fee will be applied but resubmission of the application will not be necessary.
